We have invited Prof. Ching-Shih Tsou from the National Taipei University of Business to give us a workshop on R software and statistics in R. It will be held on the morning of Nov. 11 at T4-304. You and your students are welcome to join us.

The workshop provides a basic introduction to the use of R software and R as a tool for statistical analysis. R is a free/open-source software, which is easy to get and reliable. Also, it is widely used in statistics, data analysis, and data visualization. The unlimited potential of R is from the diversity of its functions and packages contributed by researchers worldwide. If you are worried about where to get affordable software to help you and students analyze data, R, which is totally free, might be a good choice for you. Topics in the workshop covered the basics of R and some applications in statistics (e.g. variables & data types, vectors, data frames, import & export data, descriptive statistics, use packages, simple & multiple linear regression … etc.). In addition to lectures, we will have some practices and Q&A in the workshop.
