Dear international students,
To encourage interaction and exchange between Taiwan and international youth, strengthen ties, and create opportunities for multinational cooperation on youth issues, the Youth Development Administration organizes a variety of events and topic discussions at the 2021 Global Youth Trends Forum. Our Taiwan Tech youth are invited to join if you are experience in international participation or youth affairs!

- Eligibility :
- A full-time international student enrolls in Taiwan Tech, aged 18 to 35. A total of 4 will be accepted (must be one Indonesian and one Filipino) and 1 waitlisted (should accepted youth be unavailable for attendance, waitlisted youth will be selected based on the ratio of nationality and gender).
- English will be the working language for the forum. Attendees with experiences in international exchange, and a passion and interest in the forum topics are preferred.
- Registration: Please fill out the attached registration form and email it to Ms. Weihua at weihua@mail.ntust.edu.tw before 5pm, Wednesday, 26 July, 2021. The confirmed attendee list will be announced by September on the YDA website and iYouth Platform for Making Youth's International Dreams Happen. If accepted applicants are unable to attend, vacancies will be filled by waitlisted applicants.
- Rights and duties
- The YDA shall provide forum attendees lunch and travel insurance during the forum.
- The YDA shall issue attendance certificates to attendees with full participation and active engagement in discussions.
- Attendees studying or working in cities/counties other than where the event venue is located during the forum shall be reimbursed with one round-trip trip for the session attended (November 13), calculated based on the travel fare between the city/county the attendee studies or works in to the city/county when the event venue is located; special circumstances allow for the round-trip ticket of the day before and after the aforementioned dates (for the session attended), and calculated based on the Tze-Chiang Express Train or intercity bus fare (no receipts required); transportation to and from Hualien and the Taitung area and offshore islands is calculated based on the domestic economic class ticket (receipts required). Standards for reimbursement are defined by the YDA, and recipients must apply for reimbursement based on the principle of good faith; legal liability will ensue for unlawful doings.
- Attendees must consult at least one youth association from their home country regarding the theme and topics of the forum, and collect information on past or on-going programs or events implemented by the association during the pandemic.
- The YDA shall arrange for attendees to share on stage their thoughts regarding the topics and sub-topics of the forum on the day of the event.
- Leave from work or school must be arranged by attendees; the YDA will not provide any forms of documents to ask for leave.
- Full and active participation in the entire forum, engagement and interaction with attendees from other countries, and assistance in promoting and sharing information about the forum.
- Allow the YDA to list your personal data in the International Affairs Talent Database of the Administration, and be further used and processed pursuant to the Personal Data Protection Act*.
*To protect your personal data, the YDA shall directly or indirectly collect, process, and use your personal data pursuant to the articles regarding the purpose of collection and the categories of the personal data to be collected in the Personal Data Protection Act, and be applied to the International Affairs Talent Database of the YDA. When the specific purpose of data collection of your personal data no longer exists, or upon expiration of the relevant time period, you agree that the YDA can continue to keep, process, or use your personal data. Other than necessary for the performance of an official or business duty during this project or to comply with other regulations, you may request that the YDA erase or cease processing or using your personal data at any time during this project. The completion of your application indicates that you agree to the contents within.
- Reminders
- Should documents provided be found to be falsified or inadmissible, acceptance will be revoked.
- The YDA reserves the right to not issue attendance certificates to those failing to participate in full (with over 2 hours of absence with leave), actively participate in discussions or sharing, and interact with attendees from other countries.
- In response to COVID-19, guidelines for attendees and dates of the event shall be modified when necessary according to relevant regulations from the Central Epidemic Command Center to protect the health and safety of attendees.
- The YDA reserves the right to any final changes to the agenda and relevant regulations of the event.
- In the event of force majeure, the YDA reserves the right to cancel, terminate, and change the event, or suspend the selection of attendees. Any ensuing expenses incurred by attendees shall be paid by the attendees.
