First Falling Walls Lab in Taipei! Science Slam event for young researchers!

 

Falling Walls Lab Taipei is calling all talented researchers and professionals to showcase their most innovative ideas
The 2020 Falling Walls Lab Taipei will take place on 21st of May 2020 at the German Institute. Bachelor and Master students, postdocs, young professionals, entrepreneurs and junior professors are invited to apply. Ground-breaking research projects, initiatives, ideas and business models from all disciplines are welcome. Selected participants will compete to win a trip to the Falling Walls Lab Finale in Berlin, Germany on 8 November 2020, a ticket to the Falling Walls Conference and may attend the Innovation week, a networking and training event co-organized by DAAD and TU9. Each finalist will receive the opportunity to present their research work, initiative or business model within three minutes in front of a high-calibre jury from academia, research and business.
 

The aim of the Falling Walls Lab is to foster scientific and entrepreneurial innovations, and to promote the exchange between outstanding emerging scholars and professionals from various fields of expertise.
 

Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must be 18 years or older; there is no upper age limit. Bachelor and Master students, PhD candidates, postdocs, young professionals and entrepreneurs from all scientific disciplines are invited to apply. If an applicant has a Bachelor’s degree, the degree should not date back more than 10 years. If an applicant has a Master’s degree, the degree should not date back more than 7 years. If an applicant has a PhD, the degree should not date back more than 5 years. Postdocs and students which are currently enrolled in university are also eligible to apply. Group applications are not permitted, only individuals are allowed to apply to and present at a Falling Walls Lab. If you are a member of a group project, please select a group representative to submit an application. It is important that they clearly highlight their individual contribution to the group project in their application and presentation.

Presentation
A presenter must attend the Falling Walls Lab in person to present his/her work. A presentation via Skype or any other video call or voice call application is not allowed nor can the presentation be given by someone else than the original applicant. Each presenter has 3 slides: 1 introductory slide with name, institution and title of presentation and 2 content slides. The presenter must use the PowerPoint template provided to you by the Falling Walls Foundation.
