講座主題:5/16 EMI課程系列講座(三)- EMI工程科技教學策略EMI Teaching Strategies of Engineering Technology 演講者:國立中山大學西灣學院人文暨科技跨領域學士學位學程楊政融老師 內容簡介: 科技始終來自於人性! 人類藉由不斷發明新科技來推升生活品質。然而,先進的工程科技總是優先以英文作為溝通工具,因此工程人(大學生)透過英語的 “深度學習”來與世界接軌是一件必備的事情。本次演講將分享綠色創新設計(選修)與創客基礎(必修)這兩門課EMI的教學經驗,並說明助教需要具備那些能力。

【Extra Open-EMI Lectures】From 111.5.23(Mon) to 111/5/30(Mon), the EMI Course Lecture Series (II) and EMI Course Lecture Series (III) are open for viewing.
The video of lecture 4/8 and 5/16 will be released for TAs and teachers who did not attend this lecture. EMI teaching assistants MUST FINISH watching this video. TAs who wish to apply for the Outstanding Teaching Assistants Award have to attend three EMI lectures held by Center for Teaching and Learning Development (Please refer to CTLD website for more information about Outstanding Teaching Assistants Award).

(1) Topic: 4/8 EMI Teaching Strategies of Engineering Technology (2) Speaker: Dr. Wen-Chieh Wu, Department of Public Finance, National Chengchi University (3) Introduction: The three qualities that a successful EMI course must have are teachers, teaching assistants and students.Based on more than 20 years of experience in teaching EMI courses, the speakers provided participants with some tips from three aspects: course management, teaching assistant training, and student evaluation. |

(1) Topic: 5/16 EMI Teaching Strategies of Engineering Technology (2) Speaker: Dr. Cheng-Jung Yang, Department of Program in Interdisciplinary Studies, National Sun Yat-sen University (3) Introduction: Technology always comes from human nature! Human beings constantly invent new technology to improve the quality of life. However, advanced engineering technology always prioritizes English as a communication tool, so it is a must for engineering people (college students) to connect with the world through "deep learning" of English. This speech will share the teaching experience of EMI in the two courses of Green Innovation Design (optional) and Maker Foundation (compulsory), and explain the abilities that teaching assistants need to have. ※This lecture is mainly in Chinese, with English as a supplement. |

1. This seminar can provide relevant study hours for our teachers and teaching assistants. Applicants are required to finish watching the whole video, fill in and complete the questionnaire (with word limit); then the electronic study certification will be provided.
2. Teaching assistants who wish to apply for the Outstanding Teaching Assistants Award are required to finish THIS LRCTURE for TA Training Certificate. Applicants also need to attend three attritional EMI lectures held by CTLD this semester.
3. Teachers of our school who participate in this EMI lecture can meet the requirements of Article 4 of the “National Taiwan University of Science and Technology's EMI Course Incentive Program” approved by the Executive Council on October 26 (110), plus reward points. The above-mentioned program counts only if the participant completes and gets the certificate in the current semester (110-2 semester).
4. At Room R01, 12th floor of the International Building, teachers who participate in this lecture can register to receive the book, “The Ultimate Guide to Teaching in English,” authored by Prof. Posen Liao. If you have already received the book, you are not allowed to receive it again.
